We will prefer to receive the photos you want to be painted in digital format like jpg, gif,
png or bmp formats. You can upload them easily in the order page.
Make sure the photo you send us is high resolution. The larger the photo on your screen the
better. Don't worry if you are unsure about this technical stuff. Once we have your photo,
we will always inform you if it is not suitable to produce a great painting.
Photo Selection
The better your photo the better your painting will be.
When selecting your photo, try to make sure that the photo fits as many of the following criteria as possible:
- Select the photo which you like most
- The picture is in sharp focus, not blurry.
- Photo is in high resolution
- Make sure that you like the photo! Try to pick something which 'flatters' the subject.
- Hair colour, Eye colour and style should be clearly visible.
- Close up shots is good
- Photos where the subject matter is at a slight angle are better, rather than being 'face on'.
This allows the painter to capture more depth of character.
However again don't obsess over picking the perfect photo. The main thing is that whatever
you like you can send to us. Our professional portrait artists then perform magic.
Most photos are sent to us will not meet all the above criteria. If you are having
any difficulties with getting your photos to us, please contact us
or talk to us in live support.
Also remember, we have option to write your requests in big comment box in order page. So if the hair colour
or style is not clear, you can then describe it to us in words. Try to be more specific when you send comment.
We could remove subjects from the photos, also we can turn black and white photos into colour portraits.
You can also do things like merging multiple photos together in the portrait. In Order page, you can upload
more than 1 photo and write about your Queries/suggestions in painting your photo in the comments box.
